Our starting point is findings of modern social-cognitive and affective brain research whereupon emotional-neuronal processes always show in physical reactions. Sometimes even long before being aware of it.

This relation is relatively direct and hardly deliberately influenceable and it shows in electro-dermal, cardiovascular and skin temperature changes.

But also involuntary gestures, positions, movements and certain features of the physical environment allow making a statement about the emotional state of mind.

Thus of our interest are objectively observable, physical reactions originating in psychological, emotional processes – accordingly shown in a neural-affective model as assumed by LeDoux, Panksepp and Izard.

Here neuronal components of the “emotional brain” (Joseph LeDoux) serve as transmitters and activators regarding physiological and skeletal kinetic reactions.

Basic, involuntary emotional processes such as FEAR, ANGER, PANIC, HAPPINESS, DESIRE and CURIOSITY show amongst others in internal and external physical reactions (parallel to and in interaction with endocrinal and cognitive-evaluative processes).
